Here's a post by Jeff D, from a few years ago. Not sure if the drawings will do much for scale, but there are a couple of pics where it's visible against the control panel, maybe can give you a better idea.

*** Please disregard this. I see where I went wrong. It looks like Battleship Cove and PT-305 have originals of the Mk31, and 658 has made brass replicas, but I can't spot anything against any kind of reliable measuring background as of yet.
I have what might be a dumb question. Looking at the pic of the model component, I went off to google and found what I believe is a Mk 7 (?) and I haven't had any luck with dimensions for that, but if the 518 went into service in early '44, could it have possibly had the Mk 8? If so, hnsa has some info on it with pics and a blueprint.

I found a war diary, detailing MTB RON 22's test of the Mk 9, in July of 1944, which led me to wondering if the 518 may have had the 8 or the 7 in Feb of 1944.

I could be way off base here, but I don't know enough to be able to tell.
