All;
I agree with Dave, in addition to what he already listed, while all my items can be the result of super detailing,
1. There are junction boxes on the cockpit bulkhead,
2. That cable across the dayroom on the Italieri kit is missing.
3. The insulator on the antenna on stbd cockpit bulkhead is slightly larger than it should be.
4. The steering wheel is wrong.
5. The Wherry looks more refined. the Italieri Wherry looks a bit too wide and bulky.
6. The aft hatch on the aft bulkhead of the dayroom doesn't appear to be there.
7. The numbers are the wrong font/style.the numbers on this model are Gothic.

Bob was this model about 3 feet long or 4 feet long? I think this is a modified Franks Mosquito Boat Hobbies Model, Link: http://www.geocities.ws/mosquitoboat/modelimages/596cabin.JPG
Take care,
TED

I haven't examined either the Italeri 1/35 kit or the 1/20 Dumas kit, so I can't really say. But as a life-long scale modeler I thought the model looked like it was made of wood that was not finished to the degree of smoothness you would expect in an injection-molded plastic kit.

In addition, the rudders are too large for scale size, indicating a radio-controlled model, which the very aggressive propellers would tend to corroborate. Which is why I though it was an ambitious upgrade of the old Dumas r/c kit.

And yes, Ted, the model was about four feet long. So, it appears it's the 1/20 Dumas kit with the Frank's Mosquito Boat Hobbies PT 596 upgrade kit. If you want Frank to supply both the Dumas kit and the 596 upgrade kit, it's $695.00. If you already have the Dumas kit and just want the 596 upgrade kit, that's a cool $450.00.

My money is on Dave and Ted.

Cheers!

Thanks David, I never noticed these items. I appreciate your prompt response! Did not know the model was 4 feet long, that right there would rule out the Italieri model. I submit to the rivet counters!
