Nancy,
Thanks so much for the info and doing that to preserve history. My Dad, Richard "Dick" Stanton was with Ron 16 on the 224. I look forward to reading it.

Jerry,
I would also appreciate a copy of the Squadron diary you mentioned if possible.
My e-mail: rjstanton79@yahoo.com

Thank you all
Bob

Hi Jerry,

I am new to this site and came across this discussion in the forum. My former highschool history teacher's father was Fran Gelzheiser who was on the 221 boat. I was lucky enough to develop a great friendship with him before his passing in 2011. Right now his son Bob is writing a book about 221 and Ron 16, and I'm eagerly awaiting its release in 2017!

I am currently reading Tom Hart's book, but would also love to read Alvin Piotter's memoir if you could please email me a copy of it at j.arnone@att.net. Thanks, and I look forward to being involved in the discussions on this awesome site!

Joe,
Thanks for reading the book I hope you enjoy it. My grandfather and Fran were friends for many, many years, and I got to know Fran when I took my grandparents to the PT Boat reunions in the 2000's. I'm excited to hear about Bob's book and look forward to reading it in 2017.

Nancy,

Look forward to reading this. My dad was a gunner on PT220 so I suspect that your dad and mine might have known each other.

Thanks for doing this.

Hi there,

My dad was on PT Boat 221. He was Cliff Anderson. He passed away a little over a year ago. I remember as a kid we went to Al Piotter's restaurant in Wisconsin. I would love to have the diary too that Al put together of PT Boat 221 and Ron 16.

It would be fun if some of the next generation of PT Boat children/descendants could get together for a reunion and keep their legacy alive.

Merry Christmas!
