Ted,
Yes I know, this subject is one of those that has a lot of incorrect information posted on the internet. It sort of is like the one that says that Rolls Royce Merlin engines were commonly installed on PT Boats. Keep fighting the good fight!

In talking to Bud Liebenow (Skipper of the 157 for those that haven't read this book yet) this week, he is really, really appreciative of Doyle's details and research he put into this! He has brought many voices by those that were there in the picture. The events of the sinking and rescue and incidental details of life at Rendova are told are as they've always been told to me by Liebenow and Welford West (Bud's torpedo man). Doyle got it right!

Bridge,
That's great news...good to hear this from Mr. Liebenow and Mr. West, since they were there...

Hi Bill,
I hope you're still checking in. I read your book while on vacation this past week. I really enjoyed it. While much of the information was well known to me I learned quite a bit more.
I appreciate how the books ties everything back to PT-109 and doesn't wander off into tangents or speculation. Everything seemed to be based on facts which I appreciate a great deal. You can't imagine (or maybe you can) how much nonsense I've heard about JFK and his naval service over the years.
Thanks so much for writing this book. I'll pop over to Amazon and leave you a good review.
Dave

Bill,
Are you involved in this movie I've been hearing about "Mayday 109"? I hope they reach out to some key people for assistance so that they get it right. In any event I enjoyed the book and discovering the new information I hadn't come across before. I hope it does well for you.

Finished reading this afternoon. Cleared up several misconceptions for me. Anyone who reads PT 109 would be doing a disservice to themselves if they don't read the "NOTES and SOURCES" section at the back.
