Availability? Patience, Grasshopper!
No really, it’ll take a few months to trial everything and work out any bugs.

Castings? Possible but not too likely… 3D prints? For sure!

If I do a 1:35 version, many of the armaments can be borrowed from the Italeri PT-109 and/or their “upgrade kit”, or other aftermarket parts…

Because of the availability of after market parts in 1:35 scale plus figures, it would be really awesome if you could do one in this scale. In any event I can see this as a really nice build for someone.

Pat;
That is awesome! I know as this technology develops, it will only be a matter of time, before the 3d printer will be upgraded to the point of making scale figures too. Who knows, maybe we will be able to scan a photo of PT crewmembers, the printer takes all measurements off the images, and then prints out individual crewmembers in what ever scale that is input-ed.
AWESOME!!
Take care,
TED

You can't do it from a single photo (yet that I know of), but you can scan 1:1 scale (live) people or small figurines, and even put YOUR head on a figure.

See Dave Hampton's head on this PBR gunner...

this is brilliant! I'm interested in the 1/35 scale boat, in principle. I may scratch-build one in 1/72 first but the kit looks like it's going to be gorgeous.
