All really great and so helpful. I've got the interior of the most foremost hatch done and painted so far. Working back now but doing other parts of the build at the same time as well as other builds. Hope to post some progress pics in the near future.

Once again thanks.

Keith

On the PT-150 pic colour, it certainly looks like a dark sea blue but film types can be rather varied and colours totally different to what they really are. Interesting drop shadowing in white, rather like PT-490 I had thought a coloured numeral and white shadow but it may well be grey like this example.

So much food for thought.

Never to old to learn something
Doesn't stop me forgetting the obvious though

For me, I think the best interior for hatchways & bulkheads would be white and gray I really like white. Everything seems to be dainty

The aft cabin arrangement and text, note that the deck arrangement and bulkhead drawings are for PT 103-196 & 314-367:

Just to get it straight in my mind...on the 80' Elcos, the exec's cabin ("state room") was the farthest forward, right -- opposite the galley?

Interesting Jerry the three photos of the interior of the 617 showing the side ribs have an extra support between the ribs one seems to be a single plank the other seems to be made up of a wide piece cut on an angle to go between the plank supports with a smaller piece to run up the centre of the wider piece, just wondering if this was an added fix on the later Boats to assist with strength between the ribs as I do not recall this feature on the earlier Boats?

Nice catch David. I checked the hull framing drawing (same for all boats) but it doesn't show those intermediate frames. They might be shown on another drawing though. Frank, I think this is one of your images, do you know what boat this is?:

They stuck the Captain's State Room right in front of the fuel tanks Drew:

David, the hull inboard profile drawing shows single intermediates on either side of bulkheads 9, 21, 28, 33, and 39, as well as forward of bulkhead 47, and between all frames forward of frame 10. This shot shows an intermediate behind the galley stove:

Jeff, yes the two photos you posted are from my files. I checked and although it doesn't state on the photo's which boat, I see that the galley has a griddle, which tells me it is a late war boat.

Hi David,
DON SHANNON may be able to answer your question. Don occasionally monitors this message board so perhaps he has the answer about the interior woodwork on PT617. I actually have no idea. I just took the pictures and posted them, so I am not sure about those types of details. Now if your question is about the interior construction of a 78 foot Higgins Boat I may be able to answer! Take Care, Jerry
