Hi Greg,
Wow, I was surprised to find some specific information about PT 221. My
dad served on PT 221. His name was Richard (Dick) Bacon. My dad
died in 1989, but I have some memories of his stories. I have no memorabilia though, as my dad moved a lot and I am not sure what happened to his WWII stuff. He did get a Purple Heart, that I think my mom still has.
Anyway, I would love to see the pictures you have. My son's and my siblings would really get a kick out of them.
I also will send you my childhood recollections of my dad's stories if you are interested.
I tried your link, but also only see someone on a golf cart. Please let me know how I can see the pictures.
thanks very much!!
sincerely,
Paul Bacon

Very nice job on the boat. She looks wonderful as she flies across the water, almost real. You should be proud of your efforts........

Hi Rm2c Ron 16 PT 221,
I read your message on the message board and you mentioned that you have
a picture of the crew of PT 221. My father was a crew member and I would
really appreciate it if you could share your picture with my family. My dad was
Richard (Dick) Bacon. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in 1989, and I
don't have anything from his WWII service except his stories that I remember
him telling me as a kid. He was pretty traumatized and didn't talk a lot about
his experience, but I got some stories out of him. If you were also a crew
member, I would love to converse with you a little about what I remember.
I am the WWII historian in my family. I have always been fascinated with
the history, and my four siblings would really appreciate anything I can come
up with about my dad. He was dearly loved by his family and is very much
missed all these years later. My two sons and nephews are also very
interested, and have my same interests in WWII history to some degree. It's
my way of making sure nobody forgets the sacrifices of those that were there.
thanks,
Paul Bacon
