This shot of a ROK boat (Ted identified before as PT 613) clearly shows no wires leading to the rocket launcher above deck:

No wonder they look like they disappear. They are drain tubes for the "sight-tite" vents. On the DVD, see ELCO_Roll_5535-2_72SCAN_00449.pdf & 448.

Thanks a million!!!! The mystery is over! I have the shot of 613, "In the Virginia Beach PT Boat Achevies(my House)", but did not look at it recently.
I really have to get those disks!

I like that, "The Virginia Beach PT Boat Archives". Maybe you can get Frank to put up a semi-permanent display there of some of his cooler stuff. Got room for a V-12 Packard?
