I never doubted your research for a second.
What's the chances of more from this series turning up?

"I just noticed something else in this photo that I missed before. Look at the torpedo warhead and tube of "109", it has the same "cartoon drawing/ water color" look I mentioned that is evident in the PT 109 crew photo. This Locks it, Proof!!! These are all from the same roll of film(including the two 109 underway damaged photos), and it was water damaged. SUCCESS!
Take care,
TED"
Ted, actually, we already had proof that the boat along side the 61 was the109. I posted on this a while back. If you refer to the famous bare-chested JFK in the cockpit photo and look at the 77 Elco alongside, compare the "hang" and position of the ropes around the life ring on the 77 Elco with this shot of the 61 and you will see the rope is hanging in the exact same random pattern. Not possible that this could be a coincidence, so we know the unidentified 77 Elco alongside 109 in that shot had to be the 61.

Mike;
Good to hear from you. Understood, but we did a lot of this off the messageboard. However, here I was commenting on the fact that this 61 photo came from the same roll of film that was water damaged, the same roll has this 61 photo, one overhead photo of Ken in the cockpit of 61, the 109 crew photo, and the two 109 underway photos.
The JFK in the cockpit photos are obviously from a second B&W roll of film as they are not damaged. If Ken with his Leica 35mm, used the same type of film that Davy Levy used for his 35mm B&W photos at Tulagi, Levy used Kodak 35mm Panotomic X film and these rolls in 1942-43 had 24 and 36 exposures, I copied 3 of his original photo sheets and it has all the roll markings. Many of Levy's photos are on Gene's website, in Donovan's book and in Levy's own book.
As for the color photos Ken took at Searlesville, in 1942-43 a roll of 35mm Kodacolor film had 18 exposures, so we have some digging to do, to find the rest, because I only have the ones posted here plus two more, that leaves 7 color photos unaccounted for.
Take care,
TED

Hi Ted,
My misunderstanding. I thought you were referring to proof that it was 109 next to the 61, but I now see it was proof of the actual roll of film these were shot on that you were discussing. Very interesting stuff!. I'm a life long shutter bug, so this film detail is right in my wheel house.
