I think Italeri is doing pretty well with these 1:35 kits. The 596 model is becoming harder to find and the Vosper has sold very well. People in the 1:35 armor market are buying these kits. I think the 109 model will sell better than the 596 kit. There is so much more you can do with it. I too would like to see a crew set for the 109 made up of a bunch of half dressed sailors that look like they haven't eaten a decent meal in months. There was a decent response from the aftermarket world for the 596. I wouldn't be surprised to see more of the same with the 109 kit.
A gentleman at Revell mentioned to me that they were considering doing a makeover of the 109 kit. It is one of their best selling kits ever. I've not heard any more about it but you never know.

Also, the 40 mm gun on the 596 kit was modified and released as a land based anti-aircraft gun. I wonder if they'll do that with a 37 mm anti-tank gun for the foredeck?
As far as the cost of around $160.00 goes, many modellers pay that and much moe for a single 1/32 scale styrene aircraft kit.
It just depends on how plush your buget is.
Cheers from Peter

I just received an update from my contact at Italeri. The drawings from Dick and Jeff are proving to be very valuable. They're going to share their drawings for our opinions prior to going to production. I think it's terrific that they value our input and care about putting out a quality product. More to come later.

Ahoy there.
Thanks to all those who provided Italeri with the data to make an accurate model. Thanks to Italeri for using that data.
I'm looking forward to seeing the kit.
Cheers from Peter

This is great News, that a large Company is willing to listen to our small group of PT BOAT lovers. If all goes according to plan, we should have a first rate 103 class Elco to work with...................

Oh Boy!!! Finally a worthy mount for a Quad Fifty Maxon mount on the fantail. Now if only someone would come out with a 20 mm mount for the starboard turret! PT 156 here I come.

This is quite phenominal! A model company relying on fans/historians for research versus their in house researchers? To bad lindberg and Revell ignored everything told them over the years!!!
