Hi Greg,
Awesome job on your model! I too have never seen such amazing work in that scale. I saw some detail photos of the interior of an 80 foot Elco, namely PT127 taken from Mark Douglas' PT127 website. Marks Dad Robert J Douglas took numerous photos and these show the shift levers quite well. I hope Mark does not mind my posting the pics here.

In the pics I think you can see a "linkage rod" that leads from the port engine over to near the operators seat, so he could shift all 3 engines from his seat. I may be wrong, but that is how it looks. I hope these are helpful. Jerry

PS we are installing a similar reach rod on the center engine of our PT658 so that a single person can shift all 3 engines from one spot. Hopefully the Elco's did a similar thing.

I think that is the port engine reach rod laying across horizontally

I hope this helps! Jerry

Jerry,

Thanks alot! I have seen Marks site and his pictures were a big inspiration in
building my engine room. However, as many times as I looked at those pictures
on his site I somehow missed the third one. That's what I was looking for! Proof
positive that two sets of eyes are better than one.

Now I've just gotta figure out how to fit that in.

Thanks again.

Greg,

You might also want to check the several engine room scenes in the movie "PT 109" -- some good shots of the motor macs throwing the shift levers into gear.
