I spent my entire tour ,43-45, on the PT167, Ted Berlin and Paul "Red" Fay, skipper and exec at first, replaced by Ralph Gray and Ray Berneking for the rest of my vacation. We had the distinction of being the only PT to be torpedoed (it happened twice). They could never repair the boat, so we had a distinctive silouette( no day room) and was called the "ugly duck" or more officially, the "Who me?"

That's interesting about the springs Bob, I'd like to see a 20mm on that time lapse photography TV show to see what's actually going on.
