Hello everyone-
First of all I have to say thank you to Jerry Powell for posting the pictures that I had sent to him, BUT, I am sorry to report here that some of the pictures in that grouping that I had sent to Jerry are not ALL RON-10 shots!!! I should have made this clear to Jerry and I slipped up. Must be due to old age, I'm guessing??
Please let me make things clear with the pictures that Jerry posted here on the board regarding RON-10 pictures. The first two shots of the 169 are indeed RON-10 shots and these are very special as well as you have already posted your replies here. I was in e-mail contact with a very nice woman who also had a vivid interest in the RON-10 boats and I asked her to send me anything and everything she had. When I received the package and starteed looking at the pictures the very first thing I noticed were the chalk lines for re-painting. You have to remember that from the onset all of the RON-10 boats sported some type of zebra type measure paint scheme and this is true with these pictures.
The person who sent me these pictures deserves all the credit, so I will not even begin to guess who that person is. I am hoping perhaps that person will see these photos and be recognized as the original sender and clear thing up and help to establish just who it is in those pictures.
The other pictures that as shown with a slight bluish tint were given to me by a gentleman I met about five years ago when I was exhibiting my traveling Tulagi diorama display for a Memorial Day military show out at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach Florida. This gentleman said that his Dad was a PT Boater in WW II and the subject soon turned to old photograsphs. This gentleman returned the next day with copies of his Dad's pictures. These pictures he told me are from RON-12 !!!
Victor Chun posted that he wanted to know which boat was underway and whom is at the helm of the 169. All I can say is I don't have a clue to either question! It is my hope that someone can help with these shots! All I can say here and now is that I'm sorry for the confusion and that I should have cleared the way for this with Jerry before posting.
Hope that this clears up the mystery somewhat!

To Amie Geremia and others-
Our moderator for this message board, Dick, was nice enough to give me my own Photobucket site for my Tulagi diorama.
Google-
photobucket Tulagi diorama
and click on the top entry under my name to view the images of the diorama.
To view the other images that are shared with Jerry Powell -
go to ALBUMS- newest uploads

This may be a bit off base, but first let me say what great pictures these are. But one of my favorite movies is 61* - the story of Roger Marris and Mantle and the 1961 home run chase. If you have a chance to watch the cd about the making of the movie, one you will be touched by Billy Crystals love for the Yankees, his family and the great American past time.
But I was struck by the effort to replicate the green color of old Yankee stadium seating when they tried to make old Tigers stadium look like the stadium that Ruth built. The care and effort was massive to match this simple "green" The crew spent lots of time trying to match that green.
I guess Im saying everyone just wanted it to be right.
