Frank thanks for setting Dad's boat number right. My memory isn't what it used to be.

Frank, In you information to Gary, you said that the Ron patrolled Bougainville from Treasury in December 1944. I was in Ron 9 when we first went to Sterling in the Treasury Islandss. We patrolled Bougainville from October 1943. Are you sure it was 1944. I see no need to patrol that area in the late 1944's.
Am I missing something Wasn't Bougainville secure months before then. If I'm mistasken, please clue me in on the need to patrol in December 1944.

I said they patrolled the Palau area in the Marianas from October to December, 1944. It was shortly after that the Ron was transferrred to the Southwest Pacific area in the Philippines. I think during that time they were assigned to the Third Fleet, while in Palau. I know they started out at Treasury and Green sometime around August of 43 (I think).......

I spoke to my Dad (Sebastian Donald Listro) today at lunch about Lt Vucinich. He knew both Fortune and Vucinich. Dad was the QMC on PT359 (Ray Shafers boat), which was in Ron 27. He remembered your uncle well and said that he was very much respected and liked amongst the enlisted men.

Dad will be 87 in June and is in great shape and we meet for lunch every week. He's still driving and maintains his independence.

Hello,

I am looking for any information on my father or his boat/crew. He was on PT 376. I believe he was a gunner's mate. His name is Stanley Krupa. Any help would be appreciated

This picture is in my dad;s photo album but I guessed it wasn't taken in the Pacific based on the clothing. (Edit - I now see that the picture was already posted.)

On a page with pictures of the Corregidor paratrooper assult his notes say that the RON 27 boats 358, 359, 360, 361, 373, 374 and 377 participated in picking up paratroopers. There's a picture of about 10 paratroopers standing on the deck of the 361.

In discussions I believe that he said that Ray Shaffer was the intelligence officer (or something similar) for RON 27. He went on to be Governor of Pennsylvania and my Dad stays in touch with him. They live about 50 miles apart.
