Hello to all;
I recently purchased "World War II in Color" it is a 2 DVD set distributed by Timeless Media Group which has a website: www.timelessvideo.com
Disc One has John Ford's Battle of Midway which shows RON one boats in a nice portion of the film, so everyone can see what "Robin Egg" blue really looked like.
Also on this disc is Report from the Aluetians, a DOD film which clearly shows John Akin's PT 24 and PT 27, so Jerry Gilmartin,let him know! it also shows these boat tied up alongside their makeshift tender, a grand total of about 3-4 seconds of film, but at least you see them.
Take care,
TED

Ted,
They really called the gray color of the Ron 1 boats at Midway "robin's-egg-blue?"
That's a new one on me, in all my years of PT reading/research...(ya learn somethin' new every day)!
