Hi there.
My rebuild and refitting of my 20+ years old Lindberg PT boat is progressing very nicely. I have just installed a scratch-built hatch for the chain locker. What was used as the anchor line on the early war PT-103 Class boats? Was it rope or was it chain?
Thanks from PeterTareBuilder

As weight was certainly a factor on PT BOAT, heavy rope was used on the boats anchor line...........

The manual at the HSNA site, http://www.hnsa.org/doc/pt/specs/index.htm, says it's 4.5" diameter but that must be a typo, probably 1.5"? Note the manual is for later 103 type designs:
(qty) 2 75-pound Danforth anchors, with 5/8" shackle and 3/4" pin.
(qty) 2 50 Fathoms 4 1/2" sisal anchor rope complete with thimble and shackle. Rig one for service.
NOTE: The Detail Specifications are based on Specifications for Motor Torpedo Boats PT 103 to 138 design No. 80-N-3 (dated 2 January 1942) and addenda thereto (dated 22 February 1943), as prepared by Electric Boat Company, Elco Naval Division, Bayonne, N. J., with the minimum modifications made by the Bureau of Ships to make the hull specifications applicable to PT 565-624 Class.
