i know this isn't about PT but was wondering if anyone can help. trying to find a ships crest for a friends father. he was on the net tender USS Pinion. does anyone know where i could find it.

This may be an obvious question but are you sure it had a crest? Not all ships did, particularly small ones.

its not so much a crest as it is a patch from what i was told it looks like a octopus with its arms wraped around a sub. i think i may have found it on the net tender USS Mulberry site.

OK, I got it. I believe you are talking about the Net Tender's insginia. Here's a website with a version of it as a patch - tthat was unofficial. I think it was kind of accepted as the Net tender but never officiall approved.
