What were the 20mm ammo lockers on the PT-103 Class of PT boats made of?

I think they were metal..a standard 20mm chest to hold the drums. Don't think wood wouldn't hold up to the pounding of the heavy metal drums going in and out.

Garth is correct, the ammo lockers were made of wood and held up fine during the war..............
