Gidday Everyone,
I have been enjoying reading all the posts and contributing to this forum, ive even made some good friends here, and i am now seriously hooked on PT Boats,However i must get back to why i came here in the first place,im still looking for information on my Grandfather, Cecil Emors Sellers,MoMM3c.
I now know that he wasnt a permanent member of a Boat crew, but he was part of the Base Force that serviced the Boats.
Does anyone on the board know what these base forces were called,I mean did they have a unit number or a squadron number, anything that i could further research.
Cecil died before i could meet him,1996.Oh,by the way im a war grandchild (Some of the boys did more than fight the Japs over here)
Ive included his Separation Paper if that helps.
Any info or where i could look would be great.
Thanks Fellas
Michael
ps. I BET THAT TOPIC HEADING GOT YOU IN

They were pretty much called Base Force. However, they bases had differnt units within. Being a Motor Mac, He probalby would have been either the E-11 Unit - PT Operating Base Repair ComponentUnit or the E-12 Unit - PT Major Engine Overhaul Component. At Close Quarters describes all the units on Page 74-75.

Hold out hope Michael...grandkids are coming along and wanting to know more like you and I did. One of these days an offspring of a friend of your grandfather will show up with a handful of pictures, asking what they are of and looking for more info!
