QM....., I did have a great bunch of officers. As a matter of fact, my first tour of duty in ron 9, which was one year aboad the boat, I had NINE officers that's including the two times that there was a third officer aboard. My first skipper was the best. He was a former QM that came up from the ranks
Kelly was the commanding officer and believe me, if he had still been the commanding officer at the time MR Universe was in our squadron he would have exposed this jerk and probably kicked him out of the squadron.

I'm posting this for the nephew of, LT. Edmund L. McNamara. He is having trouble logging in.

Yes, My Uncle was police commish for Boston.  He was a Holy Cross football Player the big upset year of 1942 Holy Cross vs Boston College football game at Fenway Park BC lost I think by 30 points.

I also think he did have something to do with the PT Boat Convention in Boston.  I remember my dad asking him advise about having a 82nd Airborne Convention in Boston because he had experience in planning a convention.

That is a great story about my Uncle and him wanting to punch someone in the nose.  I believe it.  The McNamara boys grew up in East Boston(near where Rose Fitgerald lived same church) and had a brother who they were always trying to defend because he liked to stir up the Jewish and Italian kids.

As far as the Alamo Scout photos I would love to have that solved.  Here is another shot of the same scouts onboard the 127 Boat.

The Rescue Mission Involved Filipino 23 American Soldiers from a fishing boat on which they had fled with 73 Spaniard and Filipino Guerrillas after being surrounded by Japanese..  I wonder did the Alamo Scouts were on board for this missioin...

From the log of the PT 127:

Regards,

Jim McNamara

Hello everyone, looking to find any of the 4 PT boats that assisted Nellist and Rounsaville Teams with the liberation of a Dutch Governor and his family, and 52 Javanese (along with 12 French), from an internee camp at Cape Oransbari on 4-5 October 1944. Seventy-eight people in all. Have the mission report, but no names or boat numbers mentioned. All I know is that a M.M. 1/c K.W. Sanders (USN) was part of the contact team and that the boats were operating from Woendi Island. Anyone know Sanders or the boat he was on? The evacuees were returned to Biak Island and turned over to NICA personnel. A Dutch officer, Louis Rapmund, worked from nearby Roemberpon Island, and assisted Alamo Scouts and other Army and Navy units in the Geelvink Bay area. He was killed in Oct 1945, but I have found and spoke with his daughter who is interested in speaking with anyone who had contact with Rapmund. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lance
