Hi there.

I would like to run three props on the 1/32 scale Lindberg PT-109 kit I am currently building. To do this I require a few extra parts.

Do any of you have any or all of the following 1/32 scale Lindberg PT-109 parts you would be willing to sell?

Part 326 Brass shaft and Part 375 brass tubing

Part 3 Rudder

Part 76 Shaft support

If you do please reply with the amount you want for them and shipping.

In appreciation, PeterTareBuilder

Hey PT Builder-

I have built 3 of the Lindberg PT's , one of which is RC and I think I may have some parts that you require. A lot of guys in my ship model club have also built these and are R/Ced as well. I know I may have a spare rudder.

Give me a few days as I have to go digging through a "lot" of parts to find what you need.

Pete, have you tried contacting M.A.C.K. Marine Products in Long Branch, New Jersey? For the longest time they have offered a package with twin motors, shafts, props and the like. My Lindberg conversion PT 169 was at one time equipped with this running gear and it ran great. In fact not long ago I ordered a pair of props from them for the Lindberg system they offer. I would try contacting them. MACK has a fantastic web site. A word to the wise here, folks. The shipping at MACK is very pricey, so if you are ordering from them make it worth your while.

Pete, I'll get back to you on the parts, buddy! It's gonna take a while- and NO I won't charge ya dime! My pleasure- just let us see the pix when it's done! 'Nuff said!

Hi Frank.

I really appreciate you looking for those parts.

I am on a disability and I live in Canada (eh) so shipping would probably be very high.

That MACK set you mention; is that the set that Lindberg used to give a sheet aboiut in the PT-109 kit about 15 - 20 years ago? If so that is what I based my running gear purchases on for my second boat. That MACK package was advertised by Lindberg as being $125.That is too pricey for me now.

Up here the stainless steel shafts are about $15 each, props run $5 each. I'm not sure what the couplers go for now and 400 series motors are about $25 each.

I'm not too concerned about getting high speed as I'd prefer a long running time. The boat I am running now is the first 1/32 scale Lindberg PT-109 model I built. With the low speed motors in it and with the 7.2 volt 3300 NiMH battery I get well over 1 hour running time per charge.

Cheers from PeterTareBuilder

Hi PT Builder-

Yep, MACK has been around for a long time my friend. When I first built my 169 way back in 1987 I saw the order form in the bottom of the old Lindberg 109 1/32 scale kit. Times have sure change in 21 years, Pete! That old cat's whisker speed control was the only way to get a variable speed for a R/C scale boat! But I'll tell ya, I had a BALL with mine. The only thing wrong with those cat whisker speed controls were that they get extremely HOT, thus causing the dang thing to catch fire! I've seen many of those speed controls get "extra crispy"! I'm currently running a TRAXXAS ESC (electronic speed control) in my 169! LOVIN' IT! It's also water cooled! VERY COOL, indeed!

MACK doesn't even carry those old type speed controls anymore!

Pete- E-MAIL me! We have lots in common!

PeterTareBuilder:

I have one inbound now, and might have the bits to spare... depends how much renovating to the drive-line I wanna do. You realise that to run all three propellors, you're going to have to ditch the existing gear-train, right?

Where abouts in the Great White north are ye? I'm in the Capital, and I'm on a disability pension too.

Gimme a blip and we can chat.

Hi there WhiteWOlf.

I have already changed out the entire drive-train on my curent build because the kit rod shafts and tubing are not really suited to high-speed running. I'm still trying to get the motors I need so thois boat will plane.

Shop #1 does not have any specs on any of the motors they can order.

Shop #2 wants me to go on-line where their supplier is and make up an order then take it to them (the shop) with a deposit for them to order for me.

Shop #3 is the shop that sold me 4.8 - 6 volt Graupner motors to use with my 7.2 volt battery and then would not exchange the motor, even the unused one when the one I tried fried. That was after them emphasizing that I could do run the motor with the 7.2 battery with out a problem.

I am in South-Central Ontario.

If you give me your email addy I will email you off forum.
