AS INFO;ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL CHRONOLOGY OF THE US NAVY IN WW11 THEY GIVE THE FOLLOWING INFO ON PT 166.
USAAF B-25'S MISTAKENLY SANK PT 166 ON TUESDAY,JULY 20,1943.THEY GIVE THE COORDINATES AS; 08DEGREES 15'S,156 DEGREES 53'E
MIGHT LOKE TO LOOK IT UP ON GOOGLE EARTH EARL

The exact location of those coordinates would be interesting to see.

If they're nearer the Blackett Straight channel than Ferguson Passage (south of Wana Wana?) towards Rendova, Ballard's tube and torp might be off the 166...

You can Google Earth and run the curser to plot the Lat/Long. It is not the accuracy of a expedition w/charts and gps/sonar etc., but works for gp...
