I met up with Steve Nugent yesterday...he is the son of Harold Nugent, one of the skippers of the 210. What a treat he had for me! I was able to get photocopies of Ron 15's war diary and the majority of the relavent action reports.

This of course meant that I was up into the wee hours reading it all...neat stuff! I am of course left wanting more details; the diary is very brief and the action reports only elaborate a little more on only the bigger incidents and operations but still it was an awesome read.

Now I have to integrate this info into pistolpackinmama.net...but I am thrilled to do it. I wish I had more to "trade" with Steve - but the only 210 items I had to offer was two pictures of the boat in drydock.

I have the Maker's plate for PT 210 that was located in the chartroom. It reads: U. S. S. PT-210, DESIGNED AND BUILT BY HIGGINS INDUSTRIES, INC., NEW ORLEANS U. S. A.

That's a great artifact! How did you come across it?

I found it in an antique mall here in Minnesota many years ago. It was carefully mounted on a walnut base so it was obviously important to someone. I bought it because my Dad was in RON 13 in the Pacific theater.

If you ever decide you want to let it go...I can put you in touch with a family that would probably love to have it!

What a small world, huh? To find something like that sitting in a store just waiting for you to buy it...great find!

Victor,

Larry Smith graciously sent the 210 Makers Plate to me last year ( thanks very much again Larry ). I will take a digital photo and get it posted to the message board for you. I have not really gotten the hang of posting photos, so I'll enlist some help.

Also, I always wanted to ask you if your publisher is still in Atglen,PA. I live less than ten miles from there !
