Something odd is happening with my message that keeps posting over and over. Just tried posting a follow up message and it didn't upload. The message box was also a little odd. It had a spot for a topic in red? Anyway, I hope it stops annoying you guys soon!

Dick;
I like your untouched photo much more, it shows 308 wore the RON 22 Emblem (as did most RON 22 boats in theater) and shows either white or yellow numbers on the turret.
The first photo in the thread is a copt of my 8 x 10 hanging in my office, I appears as it was sent to me for PTHQ in 1986-87. with the "written" numbers.
PT 308 was a little different than the others. While the RON 22 boats that had painted numbers on the stern, they were just that, painted numbers. Not 308, PT 308 had cut out 12 "x 6" (1/4: thick) wooden numbers (from the RON 22 Carpenters Shop) painted black and screwed into the centerline of the transom. I discovered this when I first found 308 at Franklin Timmons boat yard, in Dagsboro Delaware in 1986, the 1944 numbers were still on the transom!
