The sister light to the one sold on EBAY is now listed. If you want to take a look, please do so. I received both of these lights in 1999, selling one on the West Coast ( which just sold ) this one has been in my possession since that time.

Thanks Wayne
Sometimes the lure of money gets one to thinking, although I am sure had I decided to sell it, it would have gone to a good home with someone who appreciates the History. That was foremost in my mind. Also folks have to understand that unlike PT BOATS INC, which recieves donations, my MOSQUITO FLEET EXHIBIT is run by myself. For instance, I spent a great deal to get ready for the Springfield Exhibit. Although the purchases I made are one time purchases, they still came out of pocket, with one very nice gentlemen, who donated the cost of 2 Manniquins.
I can understand some people feeling that everything should be donated ( I do as well in certain instances ) but in my case, I purchase artifacts with our of pocket expenses. I do however get some very nice donations of artifacts as well, which are displayed in the Exhibit. The money I could have made from the sale of the light would have purchased more needed manniquins, and other items for the Exhibit. Sorry to be so winded here, but I felt I needed to try and explain for those out there that think I am horrible for selling a piece of History. Rest assured gang, as long as there is breath in my lungs, I will also try to put on a first rate Exhibit and help to Educate those who know little of the PT FLEET.......

Hello Frank,
No explanation necessary. I'm sure that many of us share the same view.
It's just too bad that Searchlight can't talk.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who thinks you were horrible for selling that searchlight! Museums often loan-for-cash or sell items so that the income can be put towards other preservation efforts.

Frank,
Maybe this would fit in the Exhibit, it's one of the PT signal flashers!
Item number: 260236833241
All my best to you and all the work you have put into keeping the PT spirit going, my dad sure thought of them in an affectionate way, for the tough guy he was.
Bye bye for now
