I was just looking through my photos and i came across this shot of the crew of the 120 boat. Being curious, I looked up the boat in "at Close Quarters" and discovered the following.
On the night of Jan 17/18, PT 120 intercepted three barges filled with Japanese Officers near Douglas Harbor. The 120 sank two of them and set the third on fire, under heavy machinegun and 20mm fire which fatally wounded John J. Masters, Jr. CMoMM.

Hey Gary:
Any reference to PT 120 ALWAYS gets my attention. I think it might be useful to point out that the picture you posted is of the 120 taken sometime after Sept. 1944 and the reference to the January night is actually January, 1942 and of the actions of the 120 when it was a part of those first six boats into New Guinea as a part of Div 17 (PT's 113, 114, 119, 120, 121 and 122). The skipper is Earle Brown. Most, if not all, of the crew shown is/are replacements for the original, battle-weary "plank owners".
I would be most inbterested in ANY photos that anyone comes across of those Div 17 boats and crews. The search contnues.

Great photo! I love seeing different PT conditions in photos when it comes to appearance. All those guys in uniform...every group shot of my grandfather and his crewmates are in either a mishmosh of uniform types or varying degrees of undress (my pop is top row far right in what looks like his boxer shorts!):
Phillipines, 1945 (most likely Mindoro), the crew of Ron 23's PT 243
Grandson of James J Stanton
RON 15 PT 209 and RON 23 PT 243
