Dick, I just came back from a local Tag sale where I went thru some old boxes.
In these boxes were roughly 75 old photographs. To my surprise, they contained at least 30 or so pictures of what I believe to be BASE 17 Construction photo's and some PT Boat Photo's. Many were wrecked because of water damage ( I could cry ) but I did salvage some ( about 20 ).
I am sending you 12 of them for now for the boys on the message board. Maybe you can work your magic on some of them and zoom in on others (your call here).
PT BASE 17 PHOTO"S
#33. This looks to be construction of area for docking.
#34. Bow shot of PT 343 Dry Dock area
#35. A fuzzy shot of at least 4 Elco's in formation. Can't make out Bow number.
#36. Unknown camo PT in the Harbor
#38. PT 336 at the dock area ready to head out.
#39. Unknown PT in dry dock getting a face-lift.
#40. PT 336 and her Sister's ply the waters looking for trouble. Not sure of other boat numbers.
#41. Another look at Construction of what I think is Base 17.
#42. Long dock area ( not sure if this is Base 17 or not. )
#43. More Construction. To the right you can see the SO Radar Domes of a few boats.
#44. More Dock Construction. Boy, can you imagine the cost today to build this thing from Pressure Treated.

Beautiful job Dick of touching up these original photo's. They look 100% better. Don't know how you do it, but we are very lucky to have you as head of this message board.

Hello
My Father was at PT Base 17 and I was wondering if I could have copies of the photos you posted. I have a Mac so I am not able to copy the ones you posted off this site. If that would be possible my email address is beachedsiren2003@yahoo.com. My Father's name was William (Bill) Shafer and he was Communications Officer at Base 17 from about April 1945 through November 1945 ( MTB Rons, C-3 Unit #45. Officer in Charge of Communications, Advance Base, Brunei Bay, BORNEO. Rank: Lt. Jg. Shore: Base Communications. Afloat: Communications Watch Officer). Then with Ron 24 while at Base 17.

I'm on a MAC, This entire website and message board is created on a MAC, most websites are.
it's very simple. Just put your mouse (cursor) on the photo you want and hold down the right mouse button. as you hold down a small dialog box will appear. In the box you have 8 ways to save the file you're clicking. The simplest is to choose "Save to Desktop", or any of the others selections you might prefer.
You can also just click on a photo (hold your mouse button down) and drag the photo right to your desktop. If you internet browser window is covering the entire monitor screen, just reduce the size of the browser window to show a little of the desktop and drag the photo there.
Once on your desktop you save/drag the photo anywhere you like.
This copy method is true for any website and photos you run against on the internet.

Dick
I have a touch pad and when I hold down the "mouse" nothing happens. Do I need an external mouse for this to work?

Hi Judy . . .
Foolish me - of course, you must be on a track or touch Pad.
Open up your "Preference - Mouse" and you can turn on clicking - well, that is as I understand it. Also see the link below it might help:
http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2008/02/clicking-with-macbookpro-touchpad.html
Or any USB mouse plugged into one of your USB port will also work.
All the best,
Dick . . .
