Hey Charlie;
I collect photos from other sites and post them here. When I download any photo I try to capture the ID that was with it originally. Its possible That I got the boats mixed up. The damage to the stern could very well be another boat.
In the earlier post I found a shot with the starboard bow ripped apart. The title said it was the 303 but I haven't been able find any confirmation supporting this.
I took a look at Bulkleys "At Close Quarters" and there is a picture of the 204 boat with the same damage. The 204 was rammed by a German minesweeper.
This forum is great for getting the facts because there are still enough guys around that actually lived those moments.
If anyone could correct my info I would gladly welcome it.

I spoke with Walter Pirog from PT 308 who stated their boat did recieve damage and if fact the picture posted here is PT 308. I have several photo's of the same boat, with same damage to the stern, given to me by Mr. Pirog..............

Look at the torpedoes on picture 7. Not Mk13s. Maybe rolling the other fish didn't mess up the gyros after all.

Picture 7 is interesting for a lot of reasons; the Elco in the foreground (I think it's the 562 boat from Ron 29) with the Mk VIII fish and the Ron 15 boats in the background with the Thunderbolt mounts just to name a couple of things....

Gary: I looked at a blowup of the boat with the bow damage, and it IS the 303 (you can just make out the faded number on the cockpit and part of the name HOGAN'S GOAT on the starboard turret).

Thanks Will. I went back and took a closer look and you're right.
I just printed out the picture of RON 15 in Bastia. I used a good matte paper and printed it 8 1/2 x 11. I'm tempted tp put a frame around it and hang it on my wall.
It absolutely looks like an oil painting of a little Italian fishing village in the late 30's to earlies 40's with these eleven little wooden boats in the harbor.
Try it,

Thanks for the great shot of Ron 22 especially PT 302 as I was the Quatermasrter.
PT 307 was damaged in by rough seas off the coast of Cosica sometime in January 1945. I lost my best friend that night, Tom Ferrin, from Buffalo, NY.
Pt 308 was hit in the stern by PT 303 during a night exercise to launch some obsolete Mark 13 torpedos at the sea walll at Genoa. Both boats were to turn outward after the launch. However, the boats got crossed over and instead of turning outward they turned into each other.
Frank Andruss, did I give you the right information of this patrol ?
Hey. I will take any pictures of Ron 22 especially the PT 302.

Arthur;
Thanks for jumping in on this. I am partial to PT 308, but anything Ron 22 and Ron 29 I love reading about. I think Walt Pirog is the only one left of the 308 crew.
Take care,

Well I know Jack Puzio of the 308 is still with us as I talked to him last week. He lives in Florida.
