I really enjoyed seeing Franks pics of PT 308. I found some shots of other boats in the squadron that I think you would enjoy.
PT 302
PT 305
PT 313
Damage to PT 303
Crew of PT 305
I couldn't resist posting this shot. Douglas Fairbanks Jr. at the helm of PT 303.
PT Boat Base at Bastia. I believe these are RON 15 boats

Check out the last picture Gary put up. The boys have not only added a small table to have chow on, but there seems to be a wall added just behind the Helm, simular to the Elco Boats. Usually any photo's I have seen, the cockpit area is open from the Radar forward ( Higgins Boats only ) You see something new each time a photo is added on the message board.

You are correct, Frank -- these photos, and almost every other photo posted here, usually always contain many fascinating bits and pieces of previously-unseen and unknown trivia about what the boats looked like and the men who crewed them.
Keep 'em coming, everyone!

Damage on PT 308
PT 307
PT 307
According to Robert Bulkleys' "At Close Quarters", The 307 was on patrol with the 306 and 304 boat when they bumped into a German destroyer and Corvette. The 304 fired two torpedos and tried to bring the Destroyer into range of the other two PT Boats. The Destroyer and Corvette turned into the direction of the 307 boat and raked it with 20mm and 40mm rounds. It closed to within 300 yards before the 306 blew smoke and allowed the 307 to escape.Three men were killed on the 307 and five more were wounded. The boat captain Paul F. Fidler was wounded in the leg, head and shoulder refused all first aid untill all of his crew had been treated and remained at the conn until he brought his boat back to Bastia, 90 miles away. PT = Plenty Tough
"The Fascinatin Bitch" PT 306
Crew of PT 305
PT 305 Sudden Jerk
I have been scanning the net trying to collect at least one photo of every boat. These photos like most of my others were posted by others. I'm just trying to pass them along.

Beautiful shots no doubt. What caused the damage to this boat by the way. Love the shot of the guys in the War Zone wearing their dress blues. How many times did that happen in the Pacific?, not much I bet.... When I have time I will put more photo's on. Come on guys, lets get some more photo's, THIS IS FUN..............

Great pictures of RON 22.. But my Dad was a GM 2/C on the Facinatin Bitch. But I believe the number was PT 306 not 307. But love the picture with the name. I do not believe my Brothers/Sisters have that picture.

Hi Gary,
Got a question for you on the one picture you label Damage to the 307 - the picture with damage to the stern.
I was just talking to Jack Puzio (Motor Mac) who was on PT 308...he described damage to his boat that matched that picture...said they were rammed by PT 309 (he believed). As I was talking to him and he mentioned the damage, I remembered seeing this picture so I opened this up and he pretty much described it to a tee. He also knew all the guys in Frank's pictures of 308.
Any way to confirm that that picture is really the 307 and not the 308? The other two pictures of the 307 all shot up is pretty convincing but I think the stern damage shot may be 308. I'm going to print out the pictures and send them to him (he doesn't have internet). Maybe he can iID teh guy in the picture.
