Stumbled on this image while searching and I though the post was interesting - Dick . . .

When you consider how hot it was in the pacific, its a wonder these guys wore anything. The Humidity must have been aweful, and the Crews Quarters, Engine Room, and Chart House had to be a nasty place to be. While underway it was great with the breeze, but sit for awhile and here comesthe Heat again. Great old photograph. Wish we could identify those on the Bow.

I think the 157's skipper, Bud Liebenow, is the guy in the T-shirt and shorts, eighth from the left. Looks like he's standing next to Ron 9 CO Kelly, who's in khakis, seventh from the left.
If that photo was taken in Rendova in July of '43, it was only a few weeks before the boat and crew would be rescuing the survivors of the 109 off Olasana up in Blackett Straight...
