Hey Dick
Got some more photo's in recently to share with the boys. Everyone knows I am an Elco man at heart, so here are some Higgins boats to view.
A nice shot of PT-201 – If it’s Saturday it must be laundry day. or
A nice shot of PT-201 – One of these days I’ll have to find time to give this boat a good cleaning, but I guess my laundry will have to come first
#2 I like this shot of PT 228 because of the Art Work done on the Turret. The man was the brother of one of the crewmen who happened to be in the area.
#3 Some of the boys are playing Cribbage as the 228 is tied up to the Tender, not sure which Tender.
#4 PT 228 plys the waters looking for trouble. Not sure where this was taken as no description on back.
#5 PT 213, Spitten Kitten on a day time run back home. Love the shot of all the boys on the Bow.
#6 PT 302 somewhere in the Med. I like this shot as it shows the stuff inside the Life raft. PT 302 was credited with the sinking of 2 German Ammo Ships,

Frank;
Photo number 4 was taken in Panama. Having spent from 1991-1998 in Panama I recognize those hills in the background. the 228 boat is passing by what is the mouth of the Panama Canal (about 3 miles from Balboa) heading towardsFort Amador /Fort Drum area(today Known as Naos, Perico, and Flamenco Islands). On the other side of those hills was Fort Kobbe, Howard Air Force Base, and Vera Cruz. When photographed i wound say, if I was to guess 228 was 7-10 miles North of the PT Boat Base onToboga Island. Sometime in mid 1943, before going to Hawaii.
Take care,
TED
