Ahoy there to all my friends-

Ever since I signed up on this here message board I have made many friends and met a lot of fine ship modelers.

Some of you I only know by your sign on name or real name. And Frank A. I promise you sir, one of these days I'm going to get up to Mass. to see your fantastic exhibit and shake your hand and tell you face to face, "THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE TO KEEP THIS MESSAGE BOARD AND THE MEMORY OF ALL THOSE BRAVE GUYS WHO SERVED ON THE PT'S ALIVE AND WELL THE BEST WAY YOU KNOW HOW!!!"

Over the past month and a half I have had the extreme pleasure to meet Colleen and Ducati 650 aka Ed Casacia from this here message board.

Colleen and her sister were in Jacksonville and payed me a visit soon after my full left knee replacement. I'm sorry Colleen if I couldn't take down all of the diorama sections. I did manage to take down one special piece of the diorama, the sick bay section which includes the sick bay structure on Tulagi. I even went so far as to model the interior of the building as well with "patients" in all 16 beds done in 1/32 scale. They both loved it! We spent about and hour and a half and it was time well spent! What a pair of wonderful ladies! The best! You are always welcome back Colleen!

Ed contacted me via an e-mail and found out that I live within 15 minutes of his daughters home. Ed was visiting the family during Easter from Virginia and drove down. Ed by the way is the guy who built that fantastic and I do mean FANTASTIC model of the 495 boat from the Italeri kit. That is one beauty of a model, my friends. Go back on bunch of pages and check it out for yourself. I want to let you guys in on a little secret! That model of the 495 was Ed's very first out of the gate ship model that he ever attempted to build! WOW!!!

Ed and I hit it off just like we had know each other forever. We had the common bond of scale ship modelers and the love of PT boat history to share. The two and half hours that we spent together was just not enough time to get everything in but man oh man, I just had to hug this guy!

The bottom line here is that you folks out there, either on the board and those that I have had the extreme pleasure to meet in person are the salt of the earth! I thank each and every one of you for all your help and research over the years what with sending me pictures that I cherish to death and tips and ideas for making a better model in the future. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

THERE I SAID IT AND I'M GLAD!!!!!

Thanks again guys!

RIGHT BACK AT YA FRANK. SOME GREAT FOLKS ON THIS BOARD, WHO LIKE MYSELF ARE DEDICATED TO THE PT BOATS, AND THE MEN WHO SAILED THEM. LEAST WE FORGET THOSE THAT TOILED LONG AND HARD HOURS MAKING THE BOATS, AND THOSE WHO FOUGHT THE ELEMENTS ON THOSE BUG INFESTED BASE'S. A HANDSHAKE TO THOSE WHO MANNED THE TENDERS THAT KEPT THE BOAST GOING, AND THE FEMU BOYS AS WELL. I WOULD LOVE TO MEET ALL OF YOU GUYS AND GALS ON THIS BOARD. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO MEET SOME OF YOU AND I HAVE ENJOYED EACH AND EVERY VISIT.
