I recieved some wonderful pictures from Frank Ryczek Jr., of his master piece dealing with the Base at Tulagi and Ron 10. I have scanned about 20 pictures and sent them to Dick, our Web master. I am in hopes that when Dick has time he will put them on the message board for all of you to see.

Frank has done an outstanding job in recreating this PT BOAT BASE. His attention to detail is amazing, and when you look at the pictures closely, you can see all of the super details that went into making this Base. It is rather large and takes up several tables, not to mention the time it takes to set this up. Frank has shown a true labor of love in creating this for people in the Florida area to view. You can tell that he enjoys what he does as it has taken him 10 years!!! to assemble this. The Base First Aid station is really something, actually showing wounded and sick men in their cots. Many pieces go into this, and it was hard for me to try and see everything at first glance. My hats off to you Frank on one hell of a job. Even the normally crummy Linberg Kits came out pretty good. You should be very proud of your efforts Frank. I am sure all others will feel the same way when Dick has time to add the photo's to our board.............

Ahoy there Frank-

Thank you for all the kind words about the Tulagi diorama! Yea, this diorama has taken me ten years to get this far, however it is still a work in progress. Due to the very important fact that I only use photos of Tulagi whenever I can get them, they are getting more and more rare as the years go on.

I was sent a very nice shot of the chapel on Tulagi! This is going to be a long range project. I'm gioing to make the roof section removable as I did with the sick bay structure on my diorama. I plan on lighting up the entire interior with fiber optic strands to simulate candles glowing at the main alter and so on. It's going to take some engineering to pull this off, but it could be done.

There is only one problem here folks!!! I'm running out of room!!! Right now everything, and I do mean everything fits into my Montana Pontiac van. I custom made a rack system out of PVC pipe and I can then stack and slide the sections in and out of the van very easily. I don't know where the base chapel is going to go! There is no more room inside. Looks like I'll have to go to a custom made van topper! OHHHHH, HONEY, guess what!!!
