In 1992 I hosted the crew of PT195 for a reunion. My dad, Gil deMarrais TM2, had passed away in 1981 and I had a yearning to meet the men with whom he served. It was a most memorable weekend. Although all the men have since passed, the reunion has left an indelible mark on myself and my family, ensuring that PT 195 endures forever.

Nice photo, I see a few familiar faces. In 2000, RON 12 had their reunion in Virginia. We had the honor of meeting them , and took these guys led by Sam Godess and Bill Costello out on our boats at SBU 20.
It was a special moment when we got underway, for me to look back at these guys, and see the years drain from their faces, for a brief hour, in their minds, they were back on their boats in 1942-45.

Met these Ron 12 guys back at the last PT BOATS INC. reunion in Rhode Island. Sam Goddess on the mic here, and at the dinner. Great bunch of guys. In fact the guy back row far right, named George Pond mailed me PT-191 flag after this reunion, as we stayed in touch until he passed.

After our 1992 reunion, Sam Goddess came to the High School where I taught for a special Veterans Day program, I had the pleasure of introducing Sam to our 800 member student body and he delivered a perfect presentation about his experience in WW II.
From the reunion and what the men sent to me, I compiled a 30 page oral history of PT 195 and gave each man a copy. It's one of my greatest treasures.
