Danny Danzl was a tattoo artist who learned from a master in Detroit, Percy Waters.
He was in the carnival and joined the navy when the war started
He was in an MTB squadron but I'd like to know how to.find out which one
and what boat. He tattooed apparently on the bow of the boats.

Things were a little more relaxed then I guess.

Thanks for the help.

Yes. That is the man in question. Clarence John Danzl. I made a
goof up. 'Danny' was his needle name. He was quite the character.
He had big fish scales on his arms as he was 'Fish Boy' in the carnival
and bought out the oldest tattoo shop in Seattle. It's still there too.

He had throat cancer and had his larynx removed. As one of my friends
said it never stopped him from talking.

Thanks for the info. Much obliged.

In your records of MTB RON 8 you wouldn't have a record of
the boat Danzl was on? I'm not sure how to access records at this point.
Infact I really don't know where to begin.

The only sure way is to get the deck logs from the boats in the squadrons. Those are held at the National Archives in College Park Maryland. I've tried to gather the deck log crew lists when I go and pull the files. It's a bit of a long process. Unfortunately, I don't have the logs for the RON 8 or Ron 31 boats yet. It looks like many of the RON 8 boat logs are missing, but the RON 31 boat logs are there.
