I've just posted the ELCO film, Giant Killers, on Youtube.
It took a bit of time to get the video down to a size that YouTube would accept. YouTube has a ten minute limit and 100MB maximum video file size. After converting it to an .Mp4 video format, messing around with video compression and chopping it into 3 parts, each about 10 minute run length – I had it. Got it uploaded to YouTube and it was finally accepted. So go to the link below and check them out - great little film.

All the best,

Dick;
I just watched the first part. Really good stuff... The Elco factory footage is very interesting. Franks exhibit showed the construction techniques used in the assembly of the boats but the beginning footage of this tape showing boats going full out is very impressive.

Geat job, Dick. Also glad to see that this is now available on DVD (including Yesterday & Today and Devil Boats on same disc) through the Ship's Store.

I wasn't aware it was now on DVD, Alyce hasn't mentioned it to me or requested the websites Ship's Store be updated. I convert an old VHS tape I bought from headquarters about 11 years ago. The Ship’s Store DVD converted version would have saved me a lot of time and hassle - darn . . . .

I guess the Nov 2007 issue of All Hands is just a little ahead of all of us .. but that's still a good thing!

Hello Dick
Nice job putting this on You Tube. It looks pretty good considering the generations made. This DVD is in my Exhibit in Springfield. I made the DVD's from an original 16MM Film I purchased from folks out in Bayonne, NJ. I could watch the darn thing 1000 times and never get tired of it. Now that I think of it, I think I have watched it 1000 times.......

WOW.
You have done a great job getting them on youtube.
Having only ever seen the Hollywood films seeing some real footage from the factories & trial runs is something else.
Thanks for sharing with us.
