Doug I was blessed to have attended the last PT BOATS INC. reunion in Rhode Island. I met Sam Goddess and several of the Ron 12 guys as I was there for a book signing. It was a wonderful time rubbing elbows with these Heroes of mine. I met Shorty Krauel who was such a ball of fire, and became friends with another Ron 12 member, George Pond. Not long after the reunion, George donated the Battle Flag from his boat, PT-191 to my PT BOAT EXHIBIT. They were all such great guys with so many stories .

Frank - I have a portion of PT 195's flag framed along with some medals that my dad received. Indeed these are real treasures. Merry Christmas - Doug

Along with some other mementos that he brought home, I have the ensign from the PT361 that was given to my father when he relinquished his command just before the end of the war. I have never removed it from the frame that it's been in as long as I can remember for fear of it degrading further. I am fairly certain it is the same flag visible in the photo of the 361 crew that you opened this thread with. Although there is much more wear and tear to the flag than in the picture, it is consistent with the timeframe between the picture was taken and when he left the Pacific theater. I thought this might nicely loop the thread back to its beginning.

Doug MERRY CHRISTMAS to you, and Randy that too is a wonderful piece of 361 History. Here is another one I have from PT-216 Battle Flag and Commissioning Pennant removed from the boat by William C. Moen Momm1/c.
