Hello shipmates!
So on Friday 9-30-2022, we floated the PT658 around the corner of the lagoon over to the 120 ton crane and hauled the PT658 out of the water for the winter. We brought the barge and the cradle on its deck, and then dunked the barge into the water aft of the boat, then moved the cradle forward underneath her hull. After aligning the plastic marker poles attached to the after bunk, with frame 51 of the boat (marked on the aft torpedo rack) we gently aligned the two and lifted the boat up out of the water and onto the deck of the barge.
Here are a few pics of the cradle and the rigger crew riding the basket down to the barge. Scroll down for the links to two videos posted on YouTube.

I took several photos and 2 different videos of the entire process. I thought that many PT Boat enthusiasts have never seen this process so why not video it? OK so enjoy the vidoe and please Like and Subscribe to the Video!

Thanks,
Jerry

That's one beautiful boat. Had to be both proud and a bit nervous, watching her come up out of the water like that. Glad there will be another safe winter.

She has always been my favorite Higgins. Time for her to rest up for the winter. Thanks for sharing Jerry.
