The following 1942 issues will include 10 stories relating to motor torpedo boat in general, and more advertisements supporting the war effort (which I have great interest in). Elco still runs extensive advertising as in earlier years, but Huckins begins to hold back on adverting with sporadic ads. Higgins, who wasn’t advertising in previous years (except fo the early teens of 20th century), begins to enter more advertising in this 1942 publication. The Higgins ads at this point are small ads for the most part, and their advertising features all boat classes they manufacture.
In general advertising in these 1942 editions, turns to more war relate content, and less likely dealing with leisure boats. Unlike earlier years/issues, in these 1942 issues, advertisements are more geared to WWII support, specially when issues progress to the end of year.
The Motor Boating magazine publication began in 1907, with publishers including the Hearst’s Magazine Publisher, as well as others. The magazine name was changed in 1970 to “Motor Boating and Sailing”, and again to “MotorBoating” in 2000. The magazine’s publication came to an end in 2011. It was/is a copyrighted publication, and current status or ownership of copyrights since, are unknown.

Another great one Dick! I still love the Huckin boats! They look every bit like a rich mans pleasure yacht! I have read that they were nice boats, very stable. Cheers, Dennis
