THIS IS a story my father related to me about a crewman shot while in patrol. NOW I could get some of this wrong here goes while on patrol there was a short burst of gunfire , ore just one shot , while going on patrol one man on the 107 was hit in the foot and lost his foot. MY father called him SHORTY AS A nickname anyone else know this story don't have where it happened . HE just said one shot shorty hit in foot. could find no mention in documents about this. Are there records for Squadron 5 after aug. 30 th

James;
Without a date,or a round about date, we are at a loss. I am pretty sure your Dad was on 107 when LT David Payne was Skipper, right or wrong?
Take care,
TED

In looking through my records I found no such incident on PT-107. Certainly some patrols made but nothing about injuries happening on those patrols. As you know or might not the 107 was lost in a fuel fire on the dock at Hamburg Bay in Emirau. In fact in that fire PT-63 was also lost.
