More Brand New photos to share which were sent to me by Mary Turney. Her Father Richard Deane Blackburn served on PT-307 as cook and gunner onboard.

The barrage balloon in very interesting! Also, the Higgins boat with the roll off torpedo's, still sporting a zebra scheme!

That could be the 306 boat painted like that with Ron 22.

It does indeed look like 306! I guise the zebra paint lasted longer in the Mediterranean? Very interesting for sure! Cheers, Dennis

Looking at the bow and cross checking the name from Will Days list of PT boat names, it sure looks like PT306 named "Fascinatin' Bitch" you can see most of the letters of the name in the photo on the starboard bow between the stripes. I also have a photo that was on the PT309 Defenders of America website that has a caption saying "PT306 Zebra- Dick Gilpin Artist" Dick Gilpin was the skipper I believe of PT306. Another photo shows the crew of PT306 from Fall River PT Museum.
Crew Pic posted in RON22 display at Fall River PT Boat Museum on board Battleship Massa
Photo from old PT309 Defenders of America website that is captioned "PT306 in Drydock: Dick Gilpin Artist"

Thank you for these photos. My father was Richard (Dick) Gilpin and I have been researching his WWII experience for a while.

Rick,
Check your email I just sent you a lot of info about RON15 and RON22 for your interest. The one thing that is almost tailored to your needs is the wartime account of Larry noble, who was your Dads XO on board PT306. He recounts what happened to the boat pretty well. Jerry
