Elco PT BOATS that were turned over to Norway. These were 600 series boats (602-606, 608-612). These photos are from the Norwegian Historical Society. PT601-612 were reclassified RCT1-12. Only RCT-1 (the former PT-601) was converted to remote control at Norfolk NSY. And, with the exception of PT-606, the other boats were transferred to Norway. RCT-1 was used as a command and control boat to test new tactics and equipment with postwar MTBron1. She was then sent to Panama City and sold off in 1962."

Great photos Frank! Thanks for sharing them with us! I know there is a group over in next door Sweden that still operates some more modern Torpedo Boats T26,T56 etc and they have several videos on YouTube with those big engines running full speed.
Link to one of his videos

The name of the YouTube channel is "Teawby". Here are the specs on the oldest Torpedo Boat they run called T26:
Class: Patrol/Torpedo Boat
Launched: 1942At: Kockums Shipyard, Sweden
Commissioned: 1943
Decommissioned: 1957
Length: 20 meters
Beam: 5 meters
Displacement: 27 tons
Machinery: Isotta Fraschini, 1500 hp each, 18 cyl each, 57 liter
Speed: 51.5 knots
Crew: 11 Men
Armament: 2 Torpedoes 57 cm; 20 mm machine gun
I would recommend anyone interested in these small fast boats check it out.
The T56 resembles one of the Nasty class boats from VN era.

Thanks Frank, my Norweigan heritage (on my Dads side) appreciates these!
And nice clean boats Stearman, they look like they kept them shipshape. Here's the Hai, ex PT 609, crew nailing them some Soviet poachers:
Canal cruising, pretty tight fit!:

Thanks Jeff for the additional photos of the boats that went to Norway. They really kept those boats looking new.
