Very nice, thank you Al.
The torpedoes on MS 444, do you know why they are angled up? And what is the object coming down in front of the bow, again on MS 444?

I don;t know the rationale for the torpedo angle. On some classes of MAS they angle up, on others they angle down. According to my Italian colleagues, the item on the bow of 444 is a tow bar. It was fitted to other classes of MS as well.

Thanks Al. I can see both advantages and drawbacks to a solid tow bar, especially in heavier seas.
