Hi,
Hoping someone on this forum can help with what markings go where on this 75" long wooden boat. Also is the bottom of the hull a different color than the rest of the boat?
Thanks,
SteveG

Not sure why the photos don't show. I posted them the same way I do on another forum????

Steve:

Markings will depend on which boat and squadron you are trying to replicate. Cammo color is different as well as the patterns of cammo on some of the boats, so you must be sure what you want. Deck guns were also different on each boat. If you are just trying to paint the boat as she looked coming out of Elco, you can do that as well. The 103 class boats, which had the torpedo tubes and MK-8 torpedoes, with 50 caliber machine guns and a 20MM on the stern were grey in color and a copperoid water line. There are guys on this site that will give you exact colors and what to use, so be patient.

There is an excellent, lavishly illustrated article on the building of Italeri's PT-596 in the current issue of MODEL X (01), available from The Squadron Shop.
