On the day that the first Elco 80 foot PT BOAT was launched, they had Lt. Cmdr. John D. Bulkeley and Mirium Sutphen christen the boat. On that day Bulkeley inscribed the inside cover of the book "They Were Expendable" for her as a gift. I have that book and gate pass to the event donated by the Sutphen Family as well as photos from the day. I thought I would share them here

As young as she looks was Mirium the daughter of the Elco executive or his wife? Just curious if anyone knows. She looks like she could be Sutphens daughter to me.

Jerry she was the daughter of Elco's Assistant Supervisor Preston Sutphen.
