Welcome NW, I hope you enjoy it here! I too really like the PTs. After e-mail, this place is my first stop after booting up.

I love the shot of the boat at speed with the Thunderbolt! But it's not the 556, it has the engine hatch of a 103-186, aft windshield of a 103-196, day cabin funnel of a 103-186, and vertically plumb turrets of an earlier series. So somewhere between the 103 and 186. PT's 138, 160, and 174 are known to have mounted the Thunderbolt so the photo is probably one of those. Too bad I can't tell if there's a door on the fwd turret, they started with those on PT 151 and on. Do you happen to have a higher res version of the photo NW that you wouldn't mind e-mailing me? If so, just click the little envelope above this message.

Hey Jeff, I'm no expert but I think that is a CGI. Look at the mufflers and what was the photo taken from ?

LMAO you are 100 percent correct Roy! NW let me know it is from the game War Thunder. I had no idea that games were so detailed these days. The Thunderbolt is a real nice touch, somebody did some research! I see what you mean by the mufflers, I didn't look closely at them at first.

At first was trying to figure out how the photo was taken. Since there were no drones back in the day the only thing I came up with was some poor swabbie strapped himself to the very top of the mast on another boat running along side ! Now that would be a ride to be proud of. The games are amazing these days however when you cross over into the world of deep fakes, that is a whole new dimension. So glad I stuck to Final Cut and not Photoshop.

Roy:

What a great response!.. LoL. I could almost see something like that myself, some poor shmuck strapped up top with a camera tied to one hand.. classic.. but yeah, it was most definetly a still from War Thunder, the detail those guys put in is absolutely incredible, that's what made me d/l the game from the begining..

My fascination with PT's goes back about 45 years or so, always wanting to learn more and more, then I found this forum and was blown away, then 2 years later I found about War Thunder on U-tube on accident.. & now I just couldn't be happier, in fact, gotta run, time to hit up North Port (snow, ice & glaciers), intense graphics, so clear it's not even funny.. probably gonna run the 200, being it's dark green, it has a nice effect vs. the white enviorment and choppy waves.. check you guys soon..... Aloha'
