Hey Guys:

Can anyone direct me to a site that might contain a picture or two of the typical troop barges that became nightly work for our PT's? Or maybe someone out there has a picture in their files?

Thanks- Allan

Hi Allan, Could I be so bold to ask you if possible to share the Japanese Troop Barge Fotos to me.
I am trying to do a diorama with Barges depicted in the setting.
Any help would be well appreciated.
Thanks
Herman

I noticed a barge photo in the link Ted posted on the 187 thread: http://www.navsource.org/archives/12/05187.htm It's in the photos Jerry contributed from Gordon Goosela's collection.

If you do a Google search for Daihatsu Type A Barge you'll get several drawings and photos. Should be enough to make a good waterline landing craft. Will also give you hits on other types of IJN barges/landing craft, but the Type A was the main one.

Allan;
google Australian War Memorial and search their site, there is one that was captured by a Beaufort and was towed back to base by a PT, and photographed.
Take care,

Allan;
looking this morning go to this site :https://www.awm.gov.au
there are several photos of Daihatsu conducting beach resupply.

For models, here is a nice 1/72nd scale model:http://www.micromaritimeart.com/ww2-model-boat.htm

Hope this helps.
Take care,
TED
