Anyone have the hull numbers for the Higgins PTs? I've been in contact with the son of a man who owned one of the Argentine boats and he gave me the number 10345. Having the Higgins hull numbers would certainly help solve some unanswered questions.

Hello Al
I have searched for one on PT658 and have never found it, I am beginning to doubt it was ever on there. I have seen photo of Higgins factory showing the bow of 3 boats with hull number on a sign near the bow. I will look later today to see any other examples. I think I saw a photo of PT309 with a number engraved into deck beam near the COs bunk that somebody labeled as their hull number but the 658 has no such number .

I just saw the builder's plate and it indicated that she was the former ARA LT8 built by Higgins as hull 10345.

Sorry Al I looked and found no new info. Only If you look at PT King website there is a picture of the Higgins factory building some boats and there is a sign near the stern with what appears to be hull numbers. I think it is PT77,80 and 82 with the numbers B8659, B8662 and B8664 along with the date the keel was laid. If you know that maybe you could extrapolate?

PT77 is B8659
PT78 is B8660
PT79 is B8661
PT80 is B8662
81=8663
82=8664
etc

Maybe these are not the hull numbers? I have no idea.

Thanks, Gerry. I've seen a number of these photos and believe they are hull numbers. Unfortunately, they can't be extrapolated. There are over 1000 numbers between these first boats and those given for DON LUIS and there weren't that many PTs built by Higgins.
