Good eyes and knowledge guys, and nice work Dick. Probably a later boat, the 133 would have had armor plate and the lower arched-top port bridge bulkhead as seen on the 155 if the armor had been removed. Although I suppose they could have added the taller 'armor plate replacement' used on PT's 163 on. I got nuthin'... maybe the 3 is a 6 or an 8? It looks like something is blocking the 3 and 1 a little.
Thanks for the mystery Travis, this is our idea of fun! If you're willing, could you send me the original scan you made assuming it is a higher resolution?

Jeff, I don't have a way to scan the picture. I am willing to ship the photo to you if you have the capabilities to scan the photo and increase the resolution so that way we can figure out what number the other PT boat is. Send me a email autopartsguy88@gmail.com

Look on the bow of the mystery boat under the canvas cover I think I see some numbers? They may be easier to decipher?

Hey thanks Travis, that is very generous of you! But you hang on to it and keep it safe, I'd hate to be responsible for something happening to it in the mail. I was just wondering if you had a higher res digital copy for my collection. You may be able to see a bit more with a magnifying glass if you have one. Once again thanks for posting this very cool image!
I don't know CJ, you could be right. I have a bunch of 143 images but none with the newer radar visible. They are Bill Skades I think, that Jerry posted a long time ago.
I can't tell Jerry, it's all a confusing jumble to me at the bow...

So I looked and all of the PT143 pics that I have show her with the older SOA radar dome style mounted. However, I did notice a photo of PT163 Who Me? taken in the Philippines in 1945 showing both a 5 inch SSR Launcher and SO3 Radar. So maybe the mystery boat is PT163?

I'm thinking it's the 163 boat...

scanned the photo using 1200 dpi, after zooming in on the boat I say it is PT 183. The file is to big to post on the forum but if anyone wants me to email them a copy I can do so.
