Does anyone know what they are? Are they the same on the aft 20mm, the turrets, and the front of the chart house? Paul, the Australian builder of the full scale PT 109 needs to know. I have this one for ships but I'm hoping someone has something similar for small craft:

Jeff, The following is from Al Ross in answer to your query relayed to him from me.
" Hi Jonathan,
Depends on when and which specific boat. They were all over the place size-wise, font-wise, and color-wise.
Al
As such, some more specifics aboout his build will help.

Thanks Jonathan. A factory fresh PT 109 which I'm hoping followed some sort of USN regulation like the ships numbers layout pictured above.

Jeff,
Al points out that 109 factory fresh had different number size/color than when JFK had her.
That said here is a link to 1942 paint directions that have specific dimensions for PT's.
https://maritime.org/doc/camo/index.htm#pg05
Hope this helps.

So, according to the June 1942 "Ship Camouflage Instructions - United States
Navy - Ships-2," the 109 very possibly had black, unshaded I.D. numbers on
her charthouse, port cockpit splash shield, and starboard twin-,50 turret (as seen in photos of PT 121 and PT 124) in the summer of 1943 under JFK...

In the well known picture of JFK and crew on PT 109, the 109 does not appear to be black.

True -- and the often-published, black-spotted shot of the 109 at speed at sea taken from her starboard quarter seems to show a white "109" on the starboard gun turret...
Another, b&w shot of three grouped PTs -- an 80' Elco that's purportedly the 109 along the shore, and two 77' Elcos outboard -- in the Russells (with men in a landing craft in the foreground) doesn't seem to show any numbers on the 109's charthouse or port cockpit splash shield (but its hard to see), so...?
